Thinking of retiring to France?



For many in the UK, the idea of retiring to France is a long held dream.


What better place can there be to relax after those working years? There are so many opportunities to immerse yourself in that French way of life. Whether it be strolling through one of the many colourful markets in search of a bargain, wandering through the beautiful countryside, or just enjoying the magnificent food and drink - the list is almost endless.

France is ideal as a retirement or semi-retirement destination. Access and travel are easy, so your children and grandchildren are never far away whether they visit you in your new surroundings or you return 'back home' from time to time. There is a very good health system that those from the UK are entitled to use, and (probably) you have toured the country during holidays so you have a good idea what to expect.


It goes without saying that to get the most out of your new life you must be able to mix and integrate with the French people that will become your new friends and neighbours. Talking to them freely will help you to understand their customs and take a full part in the life around you.



Over the years many of our students have come to Le Poyenval as one of the important steps along the way to enjoying their French retirement. Some have come several times, starting several years before their move to France took place. Others have attended courses post retirement, either before or after their move to France.
